Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Becs Clarke
Tracy and I arrived at Ms S' place this lunchtime to help her with a furniture moving mission.
We spent a bit of time having a chat with Ms S, who told us all about her love of music and how she has played the piano and violin since the age of 6. She also introduced us to her stuffed dragons, who were keeping her company in the living area alongside her fantastic collection of old records and art books.
Following in the mighty footsteps of Nick Moore, who had done a mission to help Ms S previously, Ms S needed a second mission to move two heavy mahogany tables out of her flat and to the front of the property so that the council can pick them up.
On paper, this sounds like a simple task, but it took us a good 20 minutes to figure out the best way to manoeuvre the larger of the 2 tables outside of the narrow dining room doorway, as it was both too wide and too heavy to shift easily. Thankfully, Ms S unearthed some of her old orchestra skills to direct us successfully out of the room with the table.
As Ms S has mobility issues, moving the furniture out meant she is now able to move about her flat with more ease, although she was sad to see the beautiful tables go.
A huge well done to Tracy, who completed her second mission for GoodGym today! Welcome to the team Tracy :)
