Cause it's a bridging suite, shifting dream

This evening I met up with Anna and Louisa for a mission in Southwark for Mrs S.

Mrs S is currently in hospital and is awaiting release. To make this happen, space for hospital equipment needed to be made in her home. GoodGym were asked if we could help with this.

Knocking at Mrs S's door, we were surprised to be greeted by a gentleman instead of Mrs S's daughter. However, he seemed to be expecting us, and pointed us in the direction of the furniture to be moved with barely a flicker of an eyelid, so all good 😄👍🏻

In total, we were to move a wardrobe (in three parts), an armchair, a chest of drawers, and a commode from one upstairs room to another upstairs room. To complicate matters (because life should never be too easy), the rooms were on opposite "wings" of the house, with four steps leading up to each wing from a central landing and stairwell. There was also an incredibly breakable-looking window located next to one of the flights of stairs 😬

We decided that as the wardrobe(s) were the item(s) most likely to give us trouble, we should start by moving them. After due consideration of the incredibly breakable-looking window, we decided that the wardrobe parts were more sensibly moved between rooms by passing them across the stairwell between the two wings than via the stairs. This meant that, for each of the three bits of the wardrobe, we formed a bridge using the bannisters on either side of the stairwell. Aside from a necessary couple of bear hugs to lift/drag parts of the wardrobe(s) across various surfaces during the move, everything went smoothly. Woot! 🎉

Next came the chest of drawers, which was skillfully navigated down and up the flights of stairs by Anna and Louisa. This was followed by the armchair, which was light enough to be relayed across by a chain of the three of us. I suspect an elf hopped the commode across when I wasn't looking, but don't quote me on that.

With all of this furniture removed (within 25-ish minutes), the room was completely emptied and ready to receive some hospital equipment for Mrs S's release. Feeling like we'd had a good workout and also feeling quite smug with ourselves, we made our way downstairs, and said goodbye.
