On an overcast Thursday morning Sallyann and Matthew attended a flat on the outskirts of Liverpool. We met a lovely lady D, who is having to help a relative Mr D as there is nobody else who can do it. He uses a frame to get around his flat and has fallen over furniture, which was in the way.

It's so sad to think of all the lonely people (to lift the famous song lyric), like Mr D, who are out there , people who have precious few or no friends and family to help them in their later years, which means social services have to step in. And it's great to know that social services can call organisations like Good Gym and we can step in to help. We are like a budget version of "DIY SOS".

Some of these tasks take quite some time to sort, especially some of the gardening ones but others can be completed in a matter of minutes. And so it was with this one. All we had to do was move a few units around so that Mr D could access his kitchen and spare room where he has all his arts and crafts without the fear of falling over again. We must have done that in less than five minutes. A small but life changing task, which will enable Mr D to come home from hospital and it has massively taken the pressure of his relative as well.

A big shout out to Sallyann, who's really getting stuck in with Good Gym this being her third good deed and showing up the old timer by remember the correct address we were going to.

All the best run reports include a song lyric. And that was certainly a worthwhile mission Matthew and Sallyann - small but lifechanging.
