19 GGers ran between 4-8km, shifted soil for St Luke's and tidied up for the farm

No newbies this week but 18 amazing regular faces, thanks for coming week in week out. In the news this week:

  1. We are going for drinks post-group run next Monday (23rd October), it's Kike's birthday so you've got to be there!
  2. The GoodGym Race Team took part in our first London Met League Cross Country Race on Saturday, it's the start of the season and we'd love for you to join for us on 11th November for the next race.

Right onto to last night, we were helping St Luke's Community Centre and Freightliners City Farm - running either 8km or 4km overall.

St Luke's Report Steve Coman:

Eight of us, keen as mustard and ready to go set off for St. Luke's Community Centre to move some soil that needed moving. Shooting off down Liverpool Road at pace we soon reached our destination and set to work.

For directions - Steve > Graham

Spades, wheelbarrows and muscle power were added together and 30 minutes later - job done. A quick photo session and then back to base for a stretch. It's Goodgym on a Monday again!

Farm Report by PB:

Eleven of us headed the long way via Highbury Fields to help Islington's very own City Farm. With Nina leading the way in getting through the door we met Liz that explained that our task would be to tidy up the storage space in the barn. It has a load of old small animal cages in it which are very dusty and some which we need to dispose of.

Move over sheep!

We split into two teams - with one moving the old and dusty cages & the other group bringing in the good cages from outside. After a fair bit of lifting, clearing out hay, hosing down and a bit of scrubbing we were done. Always amazing how much we can do in 30 mins!

After a group pic with the goats we headed back via Highbury Fields and the Emirates Stadium. Nice one!

Sign up for next week here, we are off to help Caxton House.

PB out.
