Top prize for Halloween costume tonight went to Frannie, for her skeletor in scrubs look (which I spectactularly failed to get a phot of!), closely followed by Helena who had rightly predicted that lots of us would be costume less and popped into pound shop to turn us all into witches, cats, devils, mummies and unicorns! We also congratulated Ollie on completing the Great South Run and Roy for coming painfully close to a parkrun PB by equalling his current best of 21.00.

It was a regular visit to the Community Kitchen run by the lovely folk at the Brighton & Hove Food Partnership. Jo explained about all the great work that they do to help various community groups learn about good food and cooking skills, all funded by their commercial cooking courses. Evening classes include luxury chocolate making, vegan feasts & Scandinavian bread making, To see the full timetable check out their website and if you decide to book the code GOODGYM618 will give you a 20% discount. And they do gift vouchers too!

Our cleaning jobs tonight included indoor and outdoor glass cleaning, ovens, switches and handles and the lobby area. With everybody working hard it didn't take too long leaving us plenty of time for a fitness session. We headed to the i360 square and practiced good posture for running by pretending to reach up to a high shelf, relaxing but keeping the 'high hips' feeling to make us all run light on our feet. David was instantly transformed into a gazelle! We then progressed to practicing a forward lean, utilising some old inner tubes as resistance bands. After some running on the spot, with some excellent arm and knee drive, you were released from your tubes to run free with perfect running form up the slope recovering back down whilst your partner used the inner tube for some posture improving lat pulldowns.

On the run back to base, Brighton seafront provided a range of steps and slopes to keep the speedier runners happy whilst the rest of us took the more sedate, flat route.

Another evening of getting fit by doing good done. Next week we are visiting Pelican Parcels, a great charity provides 'parcels' of essentials for families in need. Until then Happy Halloween!
