On a dark, wet evening, the spirit of community and fitness came alive as a fantastic group gathered for this week's Finchley Foodbank run. It was an open session, welcoming everyone—whether seasoned GoodGym members or first-timers, including a wonderful group of Barnet Council workers, to experience how helping the community can be social and active.

The evening kicked off with a light-hearted gathering in the foyer of Phoenix Cinema. There were plenty of laughs and conversations about recent holidays, followed by a gentle warm-up to ensure both walkers and runners were ready. Spirits were high despite the weather, and participants set off into the night with one goal: delivering much-needed food donations.

Running with backpacks full of food wasn’t easy, making it a double workout, especially with the rain adding to the challenge. But the energy and determination carried everyone through. Special shoutout to Rodger, who powered through the night on his bike, showing that no matter how you choose to move, everyone can make a difference.

While the runners took a scenic route around the houses, the walkers arrived first at the food bank, each person unloading their donations. It was a humbling moment to know the food would help support the 200 families and 500 people relying on the Finchley Foodbank.

Through fitness, fun, and a shared sense of purpose, the evening proved that even on the darkest, wettest nights, community spirit shines brightest.

Big shout out to Nikki and Julia
