Kash used her Tuesday lunch break again to run to West Ealing and do some planting in Dean Gardens. Auberon from Cultivate London and a local volunteer Luke were already busy with spades and plant pots. Kash grabbed a spade and quickly dug new holes to plant various baby plants from the plant nursery. Some of the plants were very stubborn - especially kniphofia. They had such robust root systems that there was almost no soil left in their pots: it was all roots that grew through the holes at the bottom of the pots. Auberon had to perform surgeries and cut open a couple of pots to release the naughty kniphofias. Hopefully, such strong roots will make the plants survive the winter and thrive in the spring!
