Five km? Finsbury Park? Fantastic!

Goodgym runners Vic, Graham and Simon towed the line at the Finsbury Park 5000m track meet, hosted by London Heathside AC. We also had our personal cheering crew on hand, as Alison had joined us for the good times and grassroots racing action (Happy Canada Day!).

Seven races in total throughout the night, with each event becoming progressively faster. The crowd support from the Heathside club house was amazing, and the team kept a café and bar open all evening (drinks provided by Indiebeer on Holloway Road).

We had a very successful evening of running, with Vic achieving a sub 20 minute 5km, and was asked up to the podium for a "best effort" award for a gutsy performance! Simon also had a personal best race, and Graham was thrilled with a season's best time and a 2nd place finish in his heat.

Absolutely amazing fun to be had at Finsbury Park track. Our next event (hosted by Barnet AC) will be the Golden Stag mile race. 1 single mile, as fast as possible! Friday 22nd July, back at Finsbury Park track.
