Here's what Mrs E of OX4 had to say about the mission:

Dear Anwen and Ben, Thank you so much for moving the bed back upstairs yesterday! Mrs. E. is delighted! A very happy lady!

Mrs E of OX4, mission beneficiary

Ben and I hot-footed it across town from our gardening mission to help move some furniture for Mrs E.

Mrs E’s bed was in the living room, but now she’s more mobile again it was time to get it back upstairs for her. Masked up, and muddy trainers off, we flexed our muscles to manoeuvre the bed upstairs and round a couple of tight corners, breathing a sigh of relief once we got it in place without dislodging any pictures or ornaments. We got the headboard on, drawers in, and handle reattached, before making up the bed with clean sheets.

Having made a space in the living room we hopped back downstairs to rearrange the furniture to Mrs E’s liking.

After a pleasant chat we headed off into the rapidly darkening evening.

It was only half an hour or so of effort from us, but seemed to make a big difference to Mrs E.
