7 adventurous Goodgymmers journeyed deep into the jungles of the Westbury Banks Nature Reserve for a walk in the wild, and some hardcore gardening.

Back of the green alkaNET

Our Goodgymmers arrived at the Westbury Banks Nature Reserve armed with secateurs and a hedge trimmer and, oh boy, they needed it!

The site was a glorious explosion of green alkanets and nettles - absolutely beautiful but alas most it making access to the Reserve problematic at best.

We got on with the job of clearing the entrance to the tool shed so that the Friends Group can have free access to the site and continue with the work of getting the Reserve ready for community workshops.

All the while, we tried save as much of the beautiful blue flowers of the green alkanets (yes, talk about a misnomer) and I think we did a good job, even if we say so ourselves.

By the end of the evening, the area around the tool shed looked a lot tamer than when we arrived and we can't wait to go back finish the rest of the path.

Last, but in way least, thanks to our resident punmeister Charlie for today's offerings.
