After another negative test and meeting up with Lily and Paul, we were all over at the Church. Lily out the front, Paul out the back and I was doing my favourite job of walkie talkie comms, and making sure the patients were taken over to the surgery when there was space for them. I was also able to clean the chairs when they had been used because I had the time. The downside was that the waiting room had lost that lovely buzz that you get with more people. Lily enjoyed being in the sunshine and together with a HIVE volunteer found a nice warm spot to bask in. She was especially happy to receive the huge pile of Domino Pizza boxes that were delivered free to the surgery. We kept one box in the church and the rest just disappeared (surprising that!) The smell was delicious! Paul enjoyed chatting to another HIVE volunteer Julian about construction – ‘hardcore’ was mentioned, but since I only heard snippits of the conversation as I passed, I missed the complete conversation and decided not to ask….. Paul was also chief brewer today of tea and coffee and made us a couple of cups over the morning which were very welcome, thank you Paul. The morning session was quickly over and at 2pm, Lily and Paul were off duty, and hopefully planning to enjoy the afternoon’s sunshine.
