Another Simple But Life Changing Mission

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Liverpool.

Jo and I turned up at the house to be met by the Miss R's neighbour and friend. It is so sad to see people who are getting close to the end of their life with so few friends and family around them.

We did not actually get to see Miss R. She is currently in hospital and the purpose of the task was to move a bed upstairs so that a hospital bed can be put in downstairs to enable her to come home. It was lovely though to see how much her neighbour was prepared to do for her and to know that she has at least one person in the world who cares for her, apart from Good Gym of course.

The task took all of 5 minutes but her neighbour simply couldn't have done it on her own and so it was Good Gym to the rescue. So, taking five minutes out of our day, as well as the travel time, and we have changed someone's life as they will be able to come home from hospital. There is also a benefit to the hospital as it unblocks a bed. Everyone wins and Jo and I can come home and celebrate with a lovely cup of tea, which tastes all the nicer for having helped someone else out.
