We're out helping Helipads for Hospitals collecting aluminium cans with the ultimate aim being melting down 80 tonnes of aluminium to build the base for a helipad on the roof of Leicester Royal Infirmary.

Steve chose known litter hotspots to get maximum selection of aluminium drinks cans!. Although the environment was generally grim, especially on a big indudtrial estate, the rewards were worth it!

Lindsay and Tracey attacked the Slater St area we usually pick on group runs on the National Cycle Network.

Jen continuted her amazing work litter picking at The Peepul Centre vaccination centre.

Huw was asked by his sister to provide childcare for his nephew for an hour and took the opportunity to introduce him to litter picking, he loved it and even wrote a report for his Year 5 teacher!

Mel and Dave have been collecting cans locally along the Thurmaston footpath and deposited their goodies at their local Big Red Bin.

Stu collected cans around the Tesco car park near our meeting point for group runs in the city.

Great start guys and gals.

Just to further the guidance on this task going forwards.

I will post a weekly community mission for each Sunday.

Do a litter pick locally to your home (while we remain in lockdown) at any time during the week, sign up for the mission, share your pictures with Huw by the Sunday night either on Facebook, WhatsApp or via email who will compile a weekly report and publish.

If you do more than one pick feel free to log it as an additional good deed (click the red button on your GG page) but only do that if you have done more than one pick otherwise you'll end up with two good deeds for the same task.

If there is a Big Red Bin local to you, drop off your cans (Jen is keeping a tally of how much we collected so if you could let her know via Facebook or include in your message to Huw), if it is not local please hold on to the cans until we are allowed to travel for non-essential purposes or Huw will take them from you if you are volunteering on the vaccination centre missions.
