The prize for the muddiest job ever is hereby awarded to last night's task at Gunnersbury park.GoodGym heroes, I salute you!

It was sort of inevitable we were going to get pretty damp and very mucky given the rain that had been going all afternoon and showed no signs of abating just for us. However, that didn't stop a group of hardy GGers meeting at our usual spot and making our way over to the park together. That was after a warm up and a poll about Marmite: do we love it or hate it? It turns out the advertising slogan is all wrong. You can love it, hate it and even be a bit meh about it. Who knew?

When we arrived at Gunnersbury Park we had our usual challenge of finding the right spot, but luckily eagle eyed Chris found the area that had been carefully marked out for us. The job was to dig a big path, at least six foot wide, to a nice seating and habitat area. Armed with spades and wheelbarrows we got cracking, and what started off as merely muddy soon turned into a proper slip and slide. It felt like we had the whole of Gunnersbury park to ourselves, but the group of us digging in the dark with headtorches must have looked very odd to any stray passers by...

Carefully slicing away neat (mostly) cubes of top soil and placing it in a neat (sort of) barrier to line the path, we then filled in the newly created path - dubbed the Path to Knowhere - with woodchip. Cue hilarious puns, including 'the chips are down', and 'we did a chip job'. By that time I think we were drunk on mud and wet to the bone!

It was a quick run back to base (ok, we stopped outside the pub) for some stretches, and then off to warm up. Great job everybody. Next week we're back to Cultivate London, hope to see you then for a sllightly less muddy task!
