A spring in our step

4 Goodgymers met on the Bath Skyline to volunteer for parkrun.

After the main briefing from the Run Director James, we were all allocated our roles. Meyrick was a marshal and was given a loop board and a marshal sheet. He had to direct the runners at the split point ensuring that the way in the right direction cheering them as they went past.

Mary and Laura both had two roles, firstly to marshal on the first loop cheering and encouraging runners after they had run or walked up the 37 steps on the course! They then walked to the finish line and scanned the runners barcodes and finish tokens after they have crossed the finish line.

194 runners and walkers crossed the finish line safely and acheived their goal for the morning to complete 5km. It was a great atmosphere as always and great to be a part of a supportive community. Feedback from one runner was "I attended parkrun for the first time today. I just wanted to feedback what a great experience I had, how well organised it was and what a great group of volunteers. I look forward to coming back". So do we!
