Are you bending over backwards to try yoga

A few Goodgym members came together online to do some yoga. We always do a few backbends which are very useful to ways to destress.

Dr Gil Hedley explains in his talk that in order for the body to be optimally healthy and feel physically good, it’s important to move at the beginning of the day. Overnight, our muscles rest and while they’re not moving, layers of connective tissue and bodily fluid – fondly known as ‘fuzz’ – builds up between them. That urge to stretch we get upon waking is essentially an act of releasing the fuzzy build up found between muscles. If we don’t move and stretch however, this layer continues to thicken and build up, causing stiffness, chronically ‘tight’ muscles and common aches and pains.

Tuesday on line yoga session at 10am Join from 9.55am You can log on a few minutes before for a chat or ask some questions This is a simple beginners / intermediate online yoga session designed to both strengthen, stretch and relax the body. It will be an hour + long session, using some simple yoga poses both static and dynamic, and the focus will be on mindful breath and movement. Please wear loose clothes, you need a yoga mat (or similar) and may be a thin blanket for relaxation. Please let me know if you have any questions or if its your first time. I will email a link out on the day or on the Yoga whatsApp group. ( let me know if you what to go on the Whats App group.)

Marshal at Odd down Junior parkrun

A really fun and rewarding role.

Odd down junior parkrun is a weekly event which takes place at Odd down cycle circuit.

The run is 2km and is attended by 50-100 children aged 4-10 each week.

You will be helping to marshal the event on the day by encouraging and cheering on the children. It's lots of fun! A hi-viz will be provided.

Delivering roast meals for vulnerable adults in Odd Down

Provide nutritious meals to the vulnerable

Meet outside the church of St Philip and St James in Odd down. You will be given approximately 4 meals to deliver in the local area. Each address is within a 10 minute walk of the church.

These meals are lovingly cooked by the church and are served in the church but certain members of their community are unable to leave home so by delivering the meals they still get to enjoy their Sunday roast!
