For some time we’ve wanted to clear our local lanes of the accumulating rubbish which looks horrible and is a danger to the wildlife, bugs and creepy-crawlies that live there. It’s also close to Hitch’s house and we don’t want him to have to run and bike through rubbish!

Although we arranged this at short notice it proved to be very worthwhile. Katy filled her first sack in 4 minutes! In just a short stretch of around 1k the two of us had 5 overflowing sackfulls - mostly Fosters lager cans and wine bottles as well as the usual coffe cups, plastic bottles and crisp packets.

It’s sad that so much stuff is chucked out of cars as they career around these lanes but we’re pleased to be able to put some of the damage right so Hitch can enjoy the countryside on his morning jog!

Well done for organising it Bill. Now we just need to sort through those sacks to recycle all those cans......
