9 runners ran 2k and moved 5 tables, then ran 4k and painted the Arch Gallery

Despite the Easter Monday blues, we managed to get a group of nine runners together for an evening of lifting, pivoting, sliding, and painting.

"Grunting and Groaning"

We started out at the lovely Arch Gallery on Cambridge Heath Road, a starting point for many a group run, and then went on a brief jaunty jog to Shoreditch to help with the Secret 7" event. On Record Store Day they had been selling off one-of-a-kind record sleeves for charity, and needed some help getting all the furniture back into position before the place returned to its regular life as a lobby space. There was much grunting, groaning, and comparisons to the act of pallbearing as we lugged the deceptively heavy furniture down a flight of stairs.

"Extra Kilometres"

With that job done, we bounded back to Arch Gallery, where a renovation was underway and we were going to pitch in with the paint job. While most of the runners chose the scenic route back to clock up some extra kilometres, the charitable spirit (and fear of being rained on) meant a few headed back early.

"Ticking Clock"

With a ticking clock of thirty minutes, and regular reminders of so from leader Mark, the group managed to paint four or five walls and a stairwell before collapsing in a heap of white spirits.

A productive evening where everyone got a little bit covered in paint and a little bit rained on. Hurrah!
