Zhuzhing up the Green

Tonight, we met up with Jan, lead volunteer with The Friends of Turnham Green to tidy up our local greenish yellow space.

More often than not our good deeds involve some kind of destruction but that wasn’t the case today. This evening we were giving the not so green Green a little pick me up, digging up unwanted thistles from the meadow, watering and weeding the rockery and removing leftover banner tags from the railings around the green. We were so engrossed in the task that we almost forgot to take any photos 😱😱

After we’d done our bit to zhuzh up the areas Jan had asked for help with, a few of us set off for a gentle post-task run around the green and the common.
