The Friends of Windmill Gardens (FoWG) were formed in 2003 with three aims: * to get the Grade II listed Brixton Windmill restored and opened for public visits – in 2002 it had been put on English Heritage's buildings at risk register; * to make Windmill Gardens park a more welcoming space for local people; * to have a new education centre at the windmill. Windmill Gardens gained a Green Flag Community Award in 2015 and we have just been judged again so our fingers are crossed that we will retain the award for the next two years.

Please note that this community mission has been cancelled.

There are always loads of jobs at the Windmill's monthly volunteering session - planting, pruning, trimming and sometimes cleaning in the Windmill!

They are always super grateful for our help so it'd be amazing to have another cracking team for this session ✌️

Please bring masks (in case of going in the Windmill) and gardening gloves! 🀿🧀

Hi guys,

I'm really sorry but unfortunately with the new lockdown and GoodGym's guidance, we've been told to cancel all non-essential tasks. :(

If anyone passes by the Windmill gardens on a run however, you could always pop in with a bin bag and do a quick litter pick?! Or any other park! You can then log this on the GG website.

There will be plenty more missions for isolating older people however, so if you want to get Mission Verified, [head here](https://www.goodgym.org/my/dbs) to get that sorted.

Nice one,
Mark
