Community mission

Sustrans Path Clear-Up

It will enable local people to continue to benefit from the lovely woodland and walk or cycle easily along a safe route.

Description

This is a community mission, a community led session where you will meet other GoodGym members at the task. Please make yourself known to anyone in a GoodGym top when you arrive. As with all GoodGym sessions we encourage you to use the power of your legs to get there, i.e. run or walk if you can.

We will be litter picking and cutting back overgrown vegetation along the cycle path that crosses Beeley Woods, in the north of Sheffield.

It will enable local people to continue to benefit from the lovely woodland and walk or cycle easily along a safe route.

Meeting point will be at the Oughtibridge War Memorial Sports Ground, S35 OJS at 10.15am.

Parking is limited at the location and Sustrans would prefer helpers to arrive sustainably as much as possible; the closest bus stop is the Millenium Green Bus stop. Transport links: tram to Middlewood (yellow route, there's one arriving 9.57am) then bus 57 SL1 towards Stocksbridge (10.02am from Middlewood Park & ride, arriving 10.12am at Millenium Green Bus stop).

Bring your packed lunch (if you want to stay for the 3 hours), and bring your gloves.

New to GoodGym?

This is a GoodGym group run, where we run to help a local community organisation and then run back.

New runners are welcome to GoodGym group runs - no one gets left behind. You're unlikely to be alone, hundreds of new people sign up every week.

There's a place to leave bags and a toilet at the start point, all you need to do is bring your trainers. It's free to try - get involved!
