Stewarding a Community Walkathon

Help everyone enjoy a lovely walk on a summer's day

Our North Finchley is hosting a Walkathon to raise money for local charities that support the community.

They need up to 30 stewards to help make the event safe, and have asked Goodgym to provide support alongside their own volunteers.

Full details and briefing will follow nearer the time. Please sign up by end of Wednesday 10 June, so we can message volunteers in advance.

Stewards will need to arrive by 13:30 for the pre-event stewards' briefing. Entrance from Summers Lane (signposted for the Glebeland Indoor Bowls Club).

The main event is a 5km walk: 5 laps of a 1km route around the Glebelands Open Space, starting shortly after 2pm. Everything should be wrapped up by 4pm.

We'll be helping direct walkers around the route, making sure everyone stays hydrated if it's hot and helping people avoid any trip hazards or boggy bits if it's wet.

Also, option to help tidy the area before and after with a quick litter pick.
