Tooting Community Fun Day
The project unites the whole community in a day of enjoyment and celebration. It features rides, stalls, sports, crafts, entertainers and multicultural food. It encourages friendship and trust among diverse groups. It attracts large crowds, about 1500. It is coordinated by the Balham and Tooting Community Association (BATCA), in partnership with local Muslim schools and a black majority church. Local leaders, including the MP and Mayor of Wandsworth attend and give active support. Funds raised go to St George's Hospital.

Balham and Tooting Community Association have asked for help setting up for their annual community fun day.

Moving about 60-80 tables is a big task requiring strength and stamina. It's hard to find enough volunteers able to carry out this task, so support from Goodgym would be invaluable. It will set the event off to a good start and boost morale.

Before the Fun Day begins, a large number of trestle tables need to be taken out of storage and put up around the event site. This needs to be done starting 8am so that the site is fully ready when the event opens to the public at 12 noon. Breakfast (coffee and pastries) will be provided.

Your point of contact on the day will be Sue McKinnon.

** The best place to meet is by the gates of the car park adjacent to St. Augustine's Church and the event is on Broadwater Road, Tooting**
