Clear the area of unwanted plants so that we get ready for restoring the flower beds and eventually plant them up.

The Queen's Promenade Friends were so impressed with our weeding progress on our previous task that they have asked us to come back for another session. They are currently restoring an old Victorian Italian Garden. It hasn't been managed for decades and is seriously overgrown with weeds. They have made a great start already with clearing, but there is a larger area which has masses of St John's Wort plants which spread their roots massively. They need help clearing them out. It is an exposed site along the river Thames which all passers-by cherish. The support from GoodGym would help their volunteers with the tough task of clearing the flower beds.
The flower beds are raised 1m above the path, arranged on terraces. The stretch is 20m long and 3m wide.
Meet at the Queen's Promenade for the weeding session between 10am-1pm. There will be a tea break at 12pm. The meeting point is opposite the car wash, not far from where Uxbridge Road meets Portsmouth Road. Uxbridge Road's postcode is KT1 2LS, which may help locate us. The task owner is Stefan and his number is 07538 007519.
Please bring gardening gloves if you can as there are a limited amount to borrow.
How are you getting there?

I am the area activator for Kingston Upon Thames. Keen to keep moving and improving.
Apologies but this session has been cancelled by the Friends of Queen Promenade Group as they no longer need our help this weekend. I will be replacing this activity with another task so please keep an eye out for it!
Please get in touch if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Rachel
