Protecting native biodiversity

Please note that this community mission has been cancelled.

The beautiful heather field on Longwood Edge is in danger of being over run by invasive rhododendron plants. Working with the Friends of Quarmby and Longwood group to protect this important native biodiversity, we'll be chopping back the branches, digging around the root bowl then levering out the offending rhododendrons. Its heavy work so we'll need plenty of GoodGym muscle for this job. All tools are provided, we just need your energy and enthusiasm!

Due to the high temperatures forecast GoodGym have asked that all Community Missions where sufficient shade cannot be provided are cancelled. Regrettably this session will not be going ahead, apologies. It will be rescheduled for the autumn.
