Out in the Sticks

Nine of us cycled and ran out to Naburn trust hut this morning to help York Greenways. It was a beautifully sunny morning and with the birds singing and the first daffodils poking out it almost felt like spring. John got going on staining the benches with Claire, Alistair and Louise. Meanwhile Barbara, Leanne, Nikki, Rich and Laura cleared a large amount of sticks and leaves from the grass area with rakes and a wheelbarrow. We also moved and broke up a cabinet to add to the wood pile. After an hour and a bit we'd created a massive pile and got the grass as clear as we could and decided it definitely wasn't mowable. We finished off the second bench before most of us heading to Bishopthorpe for a cafe stop.
