Parkrun on Holiday: Sutton Manor

This is not a sticker Saturday event but a chance to tick off "s" on the parkrun alphabet.

The course is at Sutton Manor Colliery, St. Helens. The course is run on a mixture of gravel paths and trail paths. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Dependent on availability, marshals will be at key sections of the course, or signs will be in place.

This out & back, undulating course takes place in a well established forest environment, comprising of fast gravel tracks, steep climbs / descents & a sharp right turn making this course both challenging & rewarding. Taking in some of the best views (weather dependant) across Cheshire & North Wales, the course also incorporates the iconic Dream sculpture.

Public transport options:

• 8:02 train Liverpool Lime Street to Lea Green. Walk about 22 mins to parkrun from Lea Green

• 7:48 train from Liverpool Lime Street (7:59 from Liverpool South Parkway) arriving at Widnes then walk about 5 mins to get bus 30 from Lockett Road. Get off at Bell Lane and walk 4 mins to parkrun.

• 7:25 bus X4 from Liverpool Bus station to Green Oaks (going towards Windmill Hill).Then Bus 30 going towards St Helens but get out at Jubits Lane. 5 mins walk to parkrun.

Car: From Liverpool via the M62: Exit the M62 motorway at Junction 7 - at the roundabout take the 4th exit onto the A57, Warrington Road - turn left onto the B5419, Jubits Lane - continue along the B5419 following signs for car parking at King George V car park.

King George V car park (Jubits Lane, St.Helens WA9 4BB) is across the road from the entrance to Dream site. Cars are parked at owner's own risk, and please take extreme care when crossing Jubits Lane. Limited parking is available on Jubuts Lane itself.

Carpool: it may be possible to get a lift from Liverpool and options will be discussed in the group chat created.
