This is a nighttime task to count bats along a 1km stretch of river, starting 30 minutes after sunset. We'll stop every 100m to count bats for 3 minutes. I'll bring the bat detector, so everyone else just needs good eyes to spot them, they move fast! This is part of a national survey for the Bat conservation trust, people across the country will be doing the same thing this August. It's repeated twice during the month. We'll meet in Romsey town centre (outside Josie's cafe) and walk to the start of the route, it will be just over a kilometre to get there and will be dark in places. There is lots of free evening parking nearby, all listed on the Test valley council page.

How are you getting there?
