Welcome to GoodGym York!

We're a friendly and social group who combine exercise with helping out in the local community. Every Monday we meet to get active and do a physical task to help the charities or community organisations in our city.

WHERE WE MEET

We meet at the Priory Street Centre and our usual room is the Denham Room. As you approach the front of the Centre, turn right and go through the double doors. The room we use is locked whilst we're out so you can leave your bits and bobs in there. Street parking is available on Priory Street and costs £2 after 6pm. The nearest car park is Nunnery Lane.

THE TASK

Jane at the Secret Garden wants to create a new feature made from stones recently excavated from the local area. We'll be helping to carry/wheelbarrow 50 of the bigg'uns from the Secret Garden garage store to their final place of rest. This will enable the local residents to create a lovely rockery garden.

RUNNING AND WALKING WITH US

GoodGym is for everyone. We welcome runners of all abilities and if the task is close enough we have a walking group too. It's possible to walk to this task (about 2km each way) but walkers will leave at 18:05 promptly so please arrive in plenty of time.

We always have a back-marker too so nobody will get left behind - no matter what your pace is.

POST-RUN SOCIAL

Every week we head to Brigantes after our run for a spot of liquid refreshment and a good chat. Please join us!

Group run cancellation

Following extensive research, consultation with our trustees and work on how GoodGym as a community can play a positive role during the Coronavirus outbreak we have reached the conclusion to make extensive changes to our operations.

**All group runs will stop for the foreseeable future**

This decision has been made as these are the events at which most people gather and at which we are most at risk of spreading infection.

We will continue to update this page with our most up to date guidance:
