So, after 2 years the return of The Met League!

Claybury was bathed in sunshine for this first fixture, and we had first class support in the form of Redbridge locals Linda and James. We welcomed Cloud, Paulin and Sam to the Womens Team.

There wasn’t much time to warm up before we were off, chasing round the three laps, looking forward to seeing Linda and James on a great uphill corner and the mens team joined by Brody ( Sam's daughter ) supporting at the start/ finish line.

The course was fab, apart from a very nasty hill, once down we were running free through dappled trees and then back at the finish in no time.

Once we were all home it was the Men’s Race, which seemed massive. Our Men’s Team today consisted of 66% Steves and a Graham. They all ran their hearts out, and there were some excellent finishes. Graham paid homage to the founder of out team, Axel (now residing in France) with a classic Axel finish pose (check that photo!).

After all the hard work we had a well earned pub stop, and chatted about fonts and the like. We reflected how great it is to be fit and healthy and running races again after the so difficult last two years. It was a great gentle start to the season, now lets bring on the mud!
