Hello lightness my old friend!

First of all a big yay to starting when it's light! Last night we had a small but effective group of 8 awesome runners out to perform the marmite of GoodGym tasks, flyering! Love it or hate it, leafleting really helps charities and local organisations out by spreading the word about some of the great things they do. In the mix we had one new runner Raquel join us for her first GoodGym run and she did great!

We started at our usual spot at Bodyline Studios where we hatched a plan of areas to cover close to The Ealing Churches Winter Night Shelter which we were helping at for the last time this year. We've been there a number of times over the past 8 weeks with a small sub team to help with tasks such as organising the showers for the service users, litter picking on the site and also checking the surrounding areas of the building were safe for those inside. We also used the money we raised at our Christmas party to donate clean underwear and socks for those who needed them. Overall a successful few weeks work!

With a smaller group out last night we planned for myself and Shan to visit the shelter while the rest of the group split into two teams the cover north and south of the main road delivering flyers for The Rainbow Trust to get the word out about charity places for some upcoming sporting events, including the big Ride 100. To find out more about getting involved one of their events click here to see what's coming up.

Cracking stuff!

We all planned to meet back just after 8pm as I had a egg-cellent fitness session planned that involved an egg hunt where you had to work for your chocolate! I arrived back just before the rest of the team and 'hid' the eggs in a nearby park (they were pretty easy to find!) and the plan was to sprint, find an egg and bring it back to the group, easy right?! Well it would have been if each egg didn't have a condition attached to it! With each find came an exercise attached ranging from jump squats to press ups so you really had to earn your reward!

Everyone egg-celled throughout the evening and soon we were back at base ready to say our goodbyes and take our well deserved treats home!

A big thank you to everyone who came down and also to those who donated Easter eggs to Larissa who is collecting them to give to a local children's ward at Northwick Park Hospital, she went home with a bundle of chocolate for a great cause!

That's all, yolks!
