A triple celebration for us on #GGSuperSaturday celebrating 10 years of GG goodness,Kevin birthday and Mel is now a member of the #50GoodDeeds club

The 7 headed to Cody Dock to help with their charity duck race.

They are raising funds for a rolling bridge this will help open up this section of the River Lea, they also want to ensure that the docks are available for future generations and protect the diverse wildlife and reed beds with the adjoining brown field sites ear marked for flats.

As so many things happening at the docks we had the pleasure of working with volunteers from active Newham and open house

Health and safety talk completed,high viz on,life rings at the ready,ducks packed and ready to go we headed back up the River Lea to our stewarding posts for the race and as it was #WorldCleanUpDay we did a spot of litter picking on our way and also while waiting for the start of the race.

The tide was on our side for the race but sadly the wind was against us and made the ducks head for the mud,thankfully the kayaks and canoes came to the rescue.

A slow walk back to Cody Dock ensuring public safety and that no ducks got left behind.

Once back at Cody Dock we had the chance to listen to the bands and enjoy some food from the #codydockcafe and a beer.

Cody Dock is a brilliant little gem hidden along the River Lea and so worth a visit,can enjoy a beer as you sit on the river watching the sun go down
