Brixton Windmill
The Friends of Windmill Gardens (FoWG) were formed in 2003 with three aims:
* to get the Grade II listed Brixton Windmill restored and opened for public visits โ in 2002 it had been put on English Heritage's buildings at risk register;
* to make Windmill Gardens park a more welcoming space for local people;
* to have a new education centre at the windmill.
Windmill Gardens gained a Green Flag Community Award in 2015 and we have just been judged again so our fingers are crossed that we will retain the award for the next two years.
Please note that this community mission has been cancelled.
Brixton Windmill's gardens have been well used by the public over the past year as people have discovered it on their walks, so we're joining their monthly gardening session to help make it look nice for visitors!
There will probably be a mix of tasks from weeding to planting shrubs to pruning and there may be cleaning jobs to do in the Windmill too!
Please bring gardening gloves and a mask ๐งค๐คฟ

The folks at Brixton Windmill have been in touch and said they need to cancel this Saturday's session as they've got some kind of event in the park. Sorry about that!
We've got a few things coming up at the Windmill though - [setting up](https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/setting-up-for-brixton-windmill-s-harvest-festival) and [taking down](https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/breaking-down-after-brixton-windmill-s-harvest-festival) gazebos for their Harvest Festival on Sunday 12th Sept.
