Help at a Tiny Forest film screening

GoodGym Barnet has been helping plant, look after and monitor Tiny Forests in Barnet over the last four years, working with Earthwatch and local communities to support these brilliant pockets of urban nature.

As part of London Climate Action Week, Earthwatch has arranged a free and exclusive screening of Making a Mini-Forest, a film about the Miyawaki planting method used in Tiny Forests and how this approach is spreading across the world.

The film is narrated by Hannah Lewis, award-winning author of Mini-Forest Revolution, and follows the story of mini-forests across France, the UK, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands — including the work of Earthwatch.

GoodGym members are invited to come along, enjoy the screening, and help support the event. We may be asked to help with simple welcoming or ushering duties on the evening.

What you’ll be doing

You may be helping Earthwatch with light event support, such as:

  • welcoming people as they arrive
  • helping direct guests to the screening room
  • supporting with seating or general stewarding
  • being a friendly GoodGym presence at the event

You are also very welcome to simply come along to watch the film and learn more about the Tiny Forest movement.

Why this matters

Tiny Forests are small but powerful urban forests that support biodiversity, climate resilience, community connection and citizen science. GoodGym Barnet has played a part in planting, caring for and monitoring local Tiny Forests, so this is a lovely opportunity to celebrate that work, understand the wider movement, and support Earthwatch on the evening.
