Essex International Scout and Guide Jamboree
Between 27th July-3rd August 2024, Essex International Scout and Guide Jamboree returns to a 120 acre site at Boyton Cross near Chelmsford. This is a week-long event held every four years where 10,000 Scouts and Guides from the UK and abroad camp together for a week of fun, discovery and adventure, with the key aims to develop international friendships and skills for life. The site starts as green fields and our team of 1500 volunteers transform it into a fully operational tented village. In the days following the event, we return the fields to their original state, leaving no trace. Many of our army of volunteers that have delivered the event will have been on site for 3 weeks and need to return to their day jobs. We are therefore seeking willing volunteers to come and help us between Sunday 4th August - Tuesday 6th August 2024. Jobs will be allocated each day and will range from litter picking, moving equipment back to our central store, removing fencing and generally helping to clear the site. Volunteers will be provided with lunch and refreshments and are guaranteed to have a uniquely fun experience. We welcome interest from individuals or teams of staff and can arrange corporate publicity for your company at the event. If you are able to help us, or require further information please contact our lead volunteer at karen.packer@eij.org.uk. We look forward to hearing from you
