Southall Community Alliance has arranged two community clean-up days at the Western Road Urban Garden in Southall.
The Western Road Urban Garden project aims to create an accessible community green space in an area that most local people are completely unaware of. The 2600 sq metres site of former Western Road Allotments has fallen into neglect in the past few decades but has a great future ahead of it - it will be transformed into a multipurpose community garden that will provide food, horticulture, leisure and community interaction.
A lot of initial work has been done to clear out the space but there is more effort needed to make a visible difference. Southall Community Alliance will work with local residents and groups to further clean up this large site and plant new trees π³ and hedging. It will be a fun outdoor exercise with e a lot of physical work! π€Έπ½
