West London NHS Trust have asked us to assist Mr B, who requires help to move a 3 seater sofa from one room to another so that a hospital bed can be arranged for him.

Mr B resides with his wife and daughter, however has a strained relationship with them. He occupies his time in the front lounge at home. He has been receiving extensive support from community district nurses for wound care management, he also has difficulties maintaining his movements and general transfers, and has difficulties using the stairs/accessing his bedroom.

Due to his frail state, district nurses are considering a hospital bed, however for this to be implemented, the sofa needs to be transferred to the room at the back of the house. In this instance 2 volunteers are required to help him dismantle the sofa and place it into the back lounge which is occupied by his daughter and wife. Tools will not be required for this task.
