Compost Shift and Sort

This is part of our work to manage our churchyard in a more nature -friendly way, to increase biodiversity. The churchyard is often used by local dog walkers and is an oasis of green space in the area.

Who this task will support
Farlington Parish Eco Church Project
We have been working towards the A Rocha Eco Church awards and we gained the Bronze Award in 2022 and the Silver Award in 2024. We are now working towards our Gold Award, trying to reach net zero in our church buildings and manage our church land in a way that encourages more biodiversity. The aspect of the project with which we need help is in the churchyard at St Andrews Church in Farlington.

"A large pile of compost needs to be cleared and sorted into bags in order that we can construct a proper compost bin in the space for future use.

As we are an ageing congregation, some help with this fairly physically demanding task would be appreciated. Once the area is clear we will construct the compost bins with pallets ourselves."

Walkable

You will be able to join a group walking to the task if you'd prefer not to run.

Options are available to run between 2km and 3km in total

Remember that we run/walk to and from the task, so you'll only be running/walking for half this distance in one go.

This is a standard GoodGym group run. If you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact us.
