19 GoodGymers ran between 6-8km and helped Kentish Town City Farm!

Oh yeah we love the farm, we love the farm! Just before we talk more about the farm, the news:

  1. GG Monthly Social today in Croydon, hosted by GG Croydon and our own Pritesh.
  2. Sign up for the GG Olympics by 14th May!
  3. Well done to everyone who ran, volunteered and cheered at the Hackney Half marathon on Sunday!

On to the farm action:

We split into two groups on our way there with Polly leading a slightly longer route along the canal.

Upon our arrival we met the farm's CEO, Gus, who explained that their May Day Festival on Monday had been such a success with a record breaking amount of money raised and exactly 1700 in attendance - amazing! But that means they need help tidying up - that's where we come in.

Oh My Goat

The tasks included:

  1. Moving both short and long wood planks to different parts of the site.
  2. Lifting and piling bags of salt close to the stables.
  3. Carrying everything that was in the festival marquee at the top of the site to the bottom and the building. This included stacks of hay, scarecrows, tables and more.
  4. Litter picking the fields where animals will be moved back into.

Everyone did great with all the work done in 25 minutes. You could see how happy we all were to be surrounded by goats, cows, pigs and horses! Real cool. It was fantastic for everyone to have a chance to feed and pet the goats at the end as well.

Don't miss the goat!

See more photos from the night on facebook here (portrait pics don't work - oops). We'll be back at the farm soon :)

Sign up here for next week, we'll be helping St Christopher's Flats and Cecil Sharp House.

PB out.
