Bridge the Gap Community Gardens 'The Big Dig'

We've been asked by Bridge the Gap to help set up an outdoor space to support the mental health of children and young people who will be able to attend one to one and group sessions in an outdoor therapeutic space.

At GoodGym we know how beneficial time spent outdoors is and the long term gains for our mental health so let's help Bridge the Gap get an outdoor space for the community....they currently have no access to outdoor facilities.

What we've been asked to do...

• Clearing and weeding an allotment plot (waste to be put into tonne bags on site)
• Levelling and flattening out ground ready for a building to be erected

The task owner has told us the plot is large and there is a lot of clearing to do. There is a lot of bracken and the ground is unsteady.

Please make your own way to this task and wear appropriate clothing - make sure your feet are well protected (walking boots would be ideal), bring gardening gloves and wear something waterproof depending on the forecast.

There is free parking on the road to the allotments. There are no toilets on site but you can access these either at the YMCA building on London Road or at Dunelm cafe (both a 5-7 min walk).
