Removal of himalayan balsam to help protect endangered plant life

18:30 - 19:30As its name suggests, Himalayan balsam is from the Himalayas and was introduced here in 1839. It now an invasive weed of riverbanks and ditches, where it prevents native species from growing.
We are going to do a spot of balsam bashing to prevent the spread of further seeds.
Please arrive in plenty of time as we will need to walk to the balsam site.
