Last night we were back in the respite garden to do a tidy up after a busy summer of use. We set to work sweeping up, weeding, cleaning the equipment and pressure washing the patio. We were happy to have provided the evening entertainment for one of the young people staying. They kept a close watch to make sure we were doing a good job! It was great to welcome two new members Poppy Ollie this evening and we hope to see you back again soon.

Finnuala made me feel very welcome to the team as did all the other members who attended. The event organisers made it very enjoyable and its ignited a passion for me to continue attending further events.

What a great day! We dodged falling apples and pears when shaking them from the trees! Lived in fear as we watched toddlers wielding knives (accompanied by the parents) and watched with bated breath as the crowd grew, the children took it in turns to turn the mechanical screw, forcing the raw juices through a straining fabric and each taking it in turns to catch the apple juice at the bottom for a little taster. Was a lovely experience and good fun!!

Tonight we took a rubbish decision and headed out to litter pick our favourite alley! 🗑️😂

Lauren was socking it to the litter when she found our token sock of the day. 🧦 with finding a bunch if other clothes she ended up with a whole outfit!

Our Chief Can Crusher was back in action, and at just 8 years old, she’s decided she’s going to start her very own can-crushing business!

Laura, meanwhile, had a bit of a crappy evening when she trod in a rather stinky deposit! 🤢👟 Luckily, she managed to clean her shoe with a stick — talk about a paws-itively rubbish way to spend an evening!

Wilson found a learner plate, proving that even the litter is still learning! And Laura found a giant cone — cone-gratulations on that find!

By the end of the night, we’d really cleaned up our act and managed to bag up 3 full bags of litter, a bag of cans and a bag of glass, all ready to go off for recycling. ♻️

It was a glass-half-full kind of night, and we’re definitely not binning the memories! 😆

Another great night out with our friends, cleaning up Lords Hill one piece of rubbish at a time.

A lovely couple of hours with the lovely volunteers; Jill, Michael and Phil tidying up the beds, pruning the buddleia and planting up some new plants. All ready for some more rain hopefully coming soon. We will definitely be back for another session

A quick litter pick around the local roads by Southampton City Farm as we were both on a rest day so no running. There is plenty more litter so we'll have to do a litter repeats session again soon instead of a hill repeats session!
