With our trusty area activator away in different slopes, it was down to Julian to lead the run up to the Albany. We gathered in our usual starting point and were joined by Amine, making his GoodGym debut. Welcome Amine, hope to see you again soon!

After a quick warm up, we made our way to the task at a brisk pace, meeting a couple of the group as we arrived. Our brief for the evening was the usual litter pick and weeding, though we were warned there wasn't much of either. But, in true GG spirit, we searched high and low and did manage to fill a big bin bag!

After a group photo and some more of the flowers (Spring really is coming!), we ran back and finished off with a thorough stretch session! Well done, team!

Last week, on behalf of the lovely Ms Y, I tried to find Garibaldi in the Co-Op on Downham Way. It proved a fruitless task, so, with her agreement I added it onto my Sainsbury’s delivery, they only had squashed fly biscuits rather than Italian revolutionaries, which was probably for the best.

As for the rest of the shop, it mostly came from the Co-Op and my membership saved her £1.20 this week - which she was pleased about.

Lovely little circuit around Lewisham and Blackheath. Mrs K very happy to have her prescription collected and the most important medicine of all, pesto from the Lewisham Italian Deli! Lovely to meet her and hope to see her again.

There was one big charge on Mr J’s list - the return of pumpkin. For the last few months I have been walking past a stall that I used to use every week on Deptford Market. I was greeted with a ‘welcome back GoodGym brother.’ The rest of the shop was his usual mix of fruit, vegetables and fish.

The return leg of yesterday’s mission - taking the clean and dry bedding and towels back to Ms L who no longer has the mobility and strength to do it herself. We had a chat about the current war in the Middle East as some of her relatives are in Dubai.

This was not a poor Lewisham remake of the show fronted by Stephen Mulhern. Rather, Paul and Emily went to help the chatty Ms J with going through some confidential papers. It was a productive session as it was discovered that her BT contract appeared to be for somewhere she used to live in Deal. Emily was an absolute star and talked to BT for Ms J and sorted the problem out. The photo is of Deal Castle, not where Ms J used to live.
