About the task

Returning to a task that we help with annually, we are looking forward to helping the Richmond Boating Scouts to sanding down and oil their beautiful boathouse doors. All sanding blocks, brushes and oil will be provided, along with gloves, but please wear clothes that aren't precious as the teak oil can be sticky. It also smells wonderful!

All hands on deck are very welcome, we would love to see you whether it's your first task or your 500th! Any questions, please contact Liz.

We will meet at the Tap Tavern at 6.45 where you can also leave your bag if you wish.

As the task location is only a short distance we will head to Richmond Green for some running drills suitable for all levels, from walkers to sprinters, you go at your own pace. Open to all members and a brilliant taster session for anyone thinking of trying out GoodGym too. If you have any questions, you can email lizjones@goodgym.org

This task won't take long so after we can pop to the Tesco for refreshments and sit by the river if it's sunny, or dive into one of many nearby pubs if not.

Make sure you've read our general guidelines for safety for taking part in a GoodGym session.

This is a GoodGym group run, with the option of walking too. You'll meet other GoodGymers at the start location and run or walk to the task together. If you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact your area activator Liz (She/her) by email at lizjones@goodgym.org.

Options are available to run between 1km and 3km in total.

Remember that we will be running or walking to and from the task, so you'll only be running or walking for half this distance in one go.

GoodGym is a community of people that get fit by doing good. We run, walk and cycle to do practical tasks for community organisations and isolated older people.
