Let's Lift the Curfew 2026: join us for a special session
Tonight we're joining forces with This Girl Can and their Let's Lift the Curfew campaign.
When the clocks go back on Sunday 25 October, millions of women across the UK will once again see their world get smaller as the nights get darker.
Safety concerns affect where they go, when they go, who they go with and whether they can be active outdoors at all.
Whether shaped by past experiences, stories they've heard, or not feeling comfortable or confident in a particular place after dark, many women are unable to be active outdoors or use public spaces in the same way that men do.
In fact, nearly three-quarters (72%) of women in the UK change their outdoor activity routines during winter. Let's Lift the Curfew challenges this reality to ensure no woman has to change where, when or how she gets active because of safety concerns.

Tonight's Task
The Library of Things is a brilliant idea that's been in the Ealing Broadway Centre 🎉 for 2 years now. It allows people like you and me to easily borrow things that we need once in a while, but don't need to own. That means that we buy less and share more, which reduces waste. You can find things like:
There's plenty of other useful stuff too, like a circular saw, a carpet cleaner or a PA system.
For this week's group walk, we'll be letting the people of Ealing know that LoT is the bright idea that they didn't know they needed! We'll be walking the streets around Ealing Broadway, raising awareness by distributing flyers to nearby homes.

18:55 🧙 Meet At Task:
Not sure you'll keep up? GoodGym is for everyone (18+). Whether you've never run before, or are chasing a marathon PB, you are 100% welcome. We always have a back-marker so no one gets left behind.
If you're not comfortable running, you can also meet us at the task location in the description.
What if I'm not a runner? 70% of GoodGym members start as non-runners so if you're new to this kind of thing you will be supported by people who are all on the same journey. 👍
What do I need to wear? Most of us wear gym/running gear but this isn't required, so wear whatever you're comfortable working in. Make sure you're prepared for the weather.
Is there a bag drop? No, we don't have a bag drop or changing facilities. If you're running to the task, please only bring what you are comfortable running with.
Do I need to know how to weed/marshal/make clothing packs/etc.? No, not at all. We have someone experienced to guide you at the task, either from the organisation that we're helping or one of our own task leaders.
Don't feel like you're fit enough? Our tasks are simple and fun. There are easy jobs as well as more challenging things for those who want a workout! The choice is always yours.
Ealing Library of ThingsWe help people save money and reduce waste by affordably renting out useful items like drills, sound systems and sewing machines from local spaces – and by helping neighbours share practical skills.

This is a GoodGym group run, with the option of walking too. You'll meet other GoodGymers at the start location and run or walk to the task together. If you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact your area activator Kash by email at kash@goodgym.org.
