Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Gill (She/her)
This week 5 of our sweetest GoodGymers took an empty sweet or biscuit tub to be recycled. And don't worry. Yes we do good and get fit, so this doesn't include eating a whole tub of chocolate or sweets. We beg, steal or borrow the tubs from our friends, and even had a couple of tubs which Omar found earlier in the week on our Wednesday Group run, and one that was found on Tuesday's GoodGym task at FoodCycle. So in fact there had been no sweets for our GoodGym sweeties. Both Lucie and Laura had walked to the Jolly Toppers in Round Green from High Town to deliver their tubs, while getting in some kms for the January challenge. Both had a lovely reception from bar staff, who were happy to take the tubs. Ella dropped hers at the Ewe and Lambs in Dunstable . Gill's first tub was delivered after a short walk to the Jolly Milliner - the bar man was decidedly jolly and very keen to receive a tub as he said that they were in competition with the other pubs in the area to collect the most tubs. And finally Omar teemed up with Gill on Sunday for a 2km walk from Wardown Park back to the Biscot Mill, who had at last got their cage ready to receive the tubs. We had a brief rest in the pub with a coffee as it was bitterly cold, and it gave Gill a chance to show Omar how to connect his Strava to GoodGym, and as a new Task force Member, how to use the Task Fprce Admin Area to list new tasks, before walking back to the park and then heading for home.
