The sheep were actually on their best behaviour (in some way), but I'll save that story until the end.

The Farm missions are always very popular, so it was great to see a full house - six of us arriving well ahead of time. Enough time to introduce ourselves and have a bit of a chat before Becs let us in.

After the usual pre-cautionaries - lock up bikes, wash hands, provide gardening gloves to those who forgot and other general housekeeping, Becs split today's tasks into three. As the newbies to the Farm (and to GoodGym...their second mission), Suzanne and Rachel took on the lovely task of sweeping the goats yard whilst Miriam watered the plants in the greenhouse and finally, Claire, Neil and Sam weeded around the beds of the adults with learning disabilities. The rest of the gang joined in after their first tasks were done. It was quite a relaxing task as the soil was damp from the morning rain, so it was easygoing taking out the weeds.

After several wheelbarrows of weeds and an hour and 45 minutes flew by, Becs was pleased and allowed us the last ten minutes or so to spend time with the sheep. The lambs have been getting bigger and bigger by the week. All the sheep were on their good behaviour as none of them wanted to come out and a few were even scared of us. Yet, one or two of the male lambs are getting to that stage where they are almost reaching puberty...give it a week or two before they will be separated.

There are more Farm community missions throughout the month of July, so always look out for last minute drop outs and available spots. Next weekend, Liam will be leading the session.
