Beki from City of York Council met myself and Kate (who was doing her very first GG good deed - so give her a cheer ๐Ÿ“ฃ!) at North Street Gardens.

Our task was to scrape moss and grass from in between the paving, sweep up the cigarette ๐Ÿšฌ ends and other bits of litter, and also trim one of the trees ๐ŸŒณ that was overhanging part of the path.

We realised we would only have time to do a section of the path so decided to do half an hour scraping and sweeping ๐Ÿงน then finish off with tree trimming. Kate got stuck in with great gusto ๐Ÿ’ช with her hoe and soon had scraped clean an impressive section of the path, far more effectively than me who found the crazy paving sections far harder to scrape than the straight edges. Beki was sweeping away and soon we'd filled 2 green bags.

We moved on to the tree ๐ŸŒณtrimming - a lime ๐Ÿ‹ we think (Beki wasn't sure) as it had very sticky leaves and we had very sticky shoes ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ by the end. We managed to chop a decent amount from underneath so that people will be able to walk freely underneath it along the path.

After just over an hour, the three of us had made a good start on tidying up this area but there's more work to be done. I'm sure we'll be returning soon to finish what we've started!
