Two GoodGymers headed to Wildcat Wilderness to join the other volunteers for another morning of community gardening.

We were given options of what task we want to do. I chose to go apple picking — well, technically, picking up apples that had already fallen — and putting them into compost. It was my first time doing this task, and I really enjoyed it. There’s something quite satisfying about wandering around the grounds, spotting the fallen apples and putting them in compost.

Meanwhile, Vic was on a bit of a glass-collecting mission, picking up pieces that had surfaced from old greenhouses buried beneath the site. She found it quite calming — proving that even a little glass act of GoodGym can be surprisingly satisfying!

The task was a lovely opportunity to explore more of the Catford area. You never quite know what little corners you’ll discover when GoodGym takes you somewhere you might otherwise never visit.

After completing the task, we enjoyed lunch and shared some snacks before making our way home. There’s something truly satisfying about knowing you’ve spent the day doing something meaningful and useful.

Till next time. Cecilia D. 🍀
