A return visit to the Terracycle recycling hub at Pinewood Nurseries found us bowling up to prepare crisp packets for sending off to the crisp packet project. This project turns clean, empty crisp packets into survival sheets and bivi bags for the homeless to keep them warm on the streets.

There was no cutting corners...

as Manjit, Sandy, Gail and Chrissy paired up to cut the silver lined packets along one side and the bottom edge and dip them in a bowl of hot, soapy water to remove the crumbs. In the meantime Jen and the task owner, Paula, set to work sorting and bagging up the coffee pods so that they could be labelled up and sent back to Nespresso.

Harsha arrived and crisply set to work on the crisp packet clean up production line, separating the non silver lined packets which couldn't be used and soon getting wrist deep in the bowl of water.

All boxed off

Jen moved onto boxing up the newly cut, dried crisp packets, whilst the rest of the gang helped to clear the work area away ready for our next visit. Let's see which way the cookie crumbles when we return to sort the biscuit wrappers.
